Time Shift
A new feature available with DVR on CTCTV Prime!
We now have CTCTV Prime in our Baxter office and at a few of our employees homes for testing. We are now announcing our tentative roll out date of July 1st 2012!
This will just be our initial launch date where we will start converting our current TV customers over to the new service. It will take some time to get everyone converted, but our goal is to begin on July 1st!
All our customers will have their set top boxes replaced when we are ready to convert you to CTCTV Prime. A CTC representative will contact you to set a time for us to meet you at your home for a quick installation. We’re still on track to convert customers this summer!
We will have the Beta version of CTCTV Prime at the Brainerd Lakes Marketplace this weekend. You can stop by the Civic Center on Friday from 10:00 a.m.-8:30 p.m. or on Saturday from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Admission is $1 per person. Free if you are 17 and under.
Here’s a look at our new Picture in Picture feature. Picture in Picture (PIP), allows you to view other programs while your surfing your TV channels for other programs. As you can see in the photo we are watching FOX channel 9, but we’re using the arrow keys on our remote to forward through other channels to see what else is on, as we do this you can view in the lower left hand corner what is actually playing on the channel you are checking. In the photo we have used our arrows to see what is on KARE 11. It states the name of the program, how much time is left, what’s on next and you can actually see the program. This is a very cool feature we are looking forward to with our CTCTV Prime service!
Scott and Chris setting up multiple set top boxes in our test room. This will allow us to replicate CTCTV Prime on all the different forms of equipment we currently use out in the field today.
We have our new search feature active. Here’s a quick look at how it works!
Here’s a closer look at our On-Screen Guide. We also have customized the interface of CTCTV Prime with our logos. We’re making great progress. We hope to have all our channels active in our test environment very soon.
Here’s a look at the CTCTV Prime equipment in our Central Office.
CTC is part of a 4 site deployment with a total of 62 physical servers, which CTC has about 16-17 in-house, along with 50 virtual servers using Cisco UCM servers that are equipped with industry standard Xeon Quad processing power. The servers we have implemented today would equate to the processing power of 1000-2000 new home computers.
